What did you expect? Ray J defeated Orlando Brown via unanimous decision. It wasn’t pretty and it was more comedy than competition. I hope you weren’t expecting anything else. The two men didn’t appear to take it overly serious and both likely walked away with a nice payday as the State Farm Arena appeared to be packed for the Zeus Promotions event that served as the appetizer for Claressa Shields vs. Kaye Scott. As you might expect, fans online had a lot to say about the fight. Many posted reactions and highlights. Most of them were spot-on.
Ray J came into this one off a knockout loss to Supa Hot Fire at Brand Risk 14 in May, which is what made tonight a redemption story at all. The bout was scheduled for three rounds on the Zeus portion of the Atlanta card, hours ahead of the Shields vs. Scott main event.
Based on what we saw on Saturday, I’d be surprised if we ever see Brown in a ring again. Perhaps that’s just wishful thinking. The fight preceded the Zeus main event, which was a battle between stars from the network’s Baddies series, Tehneski and Big Lex. The latter won a unanimous decision and if we’re being honest, the ladies were far better in the ring than Ray J or Brown.
