At the end of April, Virginians narrowly voted to approve a new congressional map that would potentially give Democrats the edge to flip four seats from red to blue. Last week, the Virginia Supreme Court struck down the map on a technicality, ruling that the amendment violated the state’s constitution. Now, Democratic state officials filed an emergency application to the Supreme Court, asking the nation’s highest court to reinstate the map because Virginia’s court was “deeply mistaken” and “overrode the will of the people.” Former Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA), chair of Our Republican Legacy, joined “Forbes Newsroom” to discuss the redistricting wars playing out throughout the country.
