For K-drama fans eager for another glimpse of Disney+ and Hulu’s upcoming fantasy romance The Remarried Empress, the official trailer has arrived. It follows the teaser trailer released last month, offering an even closer look at the highly anticipated series.

Set against a backdrop of majestic European-style palaces and sprawling landscapes, the 10-episode series promises a heady mix of romance and betrayal, political intrigue, fantastical creatures and lavish costumes.

What is ‘The Remarried Empress’ about?
The Remarried Empress tells the story of Navier, the beloved empress of the fictional Eastern Kingdom whose seemingly perfect marriage to Emperor Sovieshu begins to crumble when he falls for a runaway slave named Rashta. When Sovieshu asks for a divorce so that he can be with Rashta, Navier agrees, but on one condition—that she be allowed to marry Heinrey, the crown prince of the rival Western Kingdom.
With Rashta setting her sights on the throne, Navier must fight to reclaim her power as the fate of an entire kingdom hangs in the balance. What follows is an epic tale of love, lust, betrayal and warring ambitions.

The Remarried Empress stars Shin Min-a (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Our Blues) as Empress Navier, Ju Ji-hoon (Light Shop, Kingdom) as Emperor Sovieshu, Lee Jong-suk (Pinocchio, W) as Crown Prince Heinrey and Lee Se-young (The Red Sleeve, The Crowned Clown) as Rashta.
Is ‘The Remarried Empress’ based on a webtoon?
Yes! The upcoming series is a live-action adaptation of the popular Naver webtoon of the same name written by Alphatart and illustrated by SUMPUL. (It’s perhaps worth mentioning that The Remarried Empress was originally released as a web novel before being adapted into a webtoon.) The webtoon has amassed almost 3 billion views to date.
Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choong-yeol (The Uncanny Counter) wrote the adapted screenplay for The Remarried Empress, with Cho Suwon (Pinocchio, I Can Hear Your Voice) directing the series.
When is ‘The Remarried Empress’ coming out?
The Remarried Empress will debut with a four-episode premiere on November 4th, 2026, with two new episodes releasing each Wednesday through November 25th, for a total of 10 episodes.
Where can I watch ‘The Remarried Empress’?
Viewers can watch The Remarried Empress exclusively on Hulu (in the U.S) and Disney+ (outside the U.S.).
Prior to its streaming launch, The Remarried Empress will have its world premiere at the On Screen section of this year’s Busan International Film Festival, where the series’ first three episodes will be screened. The 31st Busan International Film Festival will run from October 6th – 15th.
