Reacher Season 4 returns this week with another new episode on Prime Video, following the events of last week’s surprisingly violent yet bloodless shootout in “Bridge.” With Reacher now on the run and the conspiracy beginning to come into focus, the season is heading into its final stretch. What Is Reacher Season 4, Episode 6 About?
Episode 6 is titled “Plum Out of Luck,” and picks up after another major cliffhanger. At the end of Episode 5, Reacher and Tamara tracked down the Hoths only to discover that Lila and Amisha had taken Jacob prisoner, putting a knife to his throat and demanding the flash drive in exchange for his life.
Exactly how Reacher gets from last week’s hostage standoff remains to be seen, though with the title I would expect that intrepid indie journalist, Russell Plum, has some important role to play. With only three episodes remaining, “Plum Out of Luck” should bring us considerably closer to understanding what the Hoths are really after and how all the different pieces of this increasingly convoluted conspiracy fit together.
Who Is In The Cast Of Reacher Season 4?
As with every season of Reacher, most of the cast is brand new. Reacher is the ultimate hobo hero, traveling from one town to another, getting mixed up in one conflict after another usually with a new – and attractive – love interest. Here’s the main cast for Season 4:
- Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher
- Sydelle Noel as Tamara Green, a detective in the Philadelphia Police Department
- Christopher Marquette as Jacob “Jake” Merrick, a small-town police officer
- Agnez Mo as Lila Hoth
- Anggun as Amisha Hoth
- Kevin Corrigan as Detective Shaun Docherty, Tamara’s partner
- Kevin Weisman as Russell Plum, a freelance journalist
- Marc Blucas as Congressman John Sampson
- Kathleen Robertson as Elspeth Sampson, John’s wife
- Aaron Poole as Springfield
How Many Episodes Of Reacher Season 4 Are Left?
Episode 6 brings Reacher Season 4 into its final three installments. After this week’s episode, just two episodes remain before the September 16 finale.
| Episode | Release Date |
|---|---|
| Episodes 1 – 3 | Aug. 12 |
| Episode 4 | Aug. 19 |
| Episode 5 | Aug. 26 |
| Episode 6 | Sept. 2 |
| Episode 7 | Sept. 9 |
| Episode 8 — Finale | Sept. 16 |
Production for Reacher Season 5 is already underway, though no release date for the fifth season has been announced. Season 5 will adapt Lee Child’s Make Me. The spinoff series, Neagley, drops all eight episodes on September 16, the same day as the Reacher Season 4 finale.
I’ll update this guide if Prime Video changes the schedule. Check back Wednesday here on this blog for my Episode 5 review, and subscribe to my YouTube channel where I’ll have more discussions of the current Season up soon as well.
Is Reacher Season 4 Worth Watching?

So far, Reacher has been a pretty mixed bag across its four seasons, and certainly in Season 4. The first couple episodes started out strong, but the season has increasingly fallen into many of the same traps that plagued Seasons 2 and 3.
The Rotten Tomatoes score currently sits at 94%, which is solid enough, but Seasons 2 and 3 both sported 98% scores, which I find incredibly inflated. More interestingly, the Season 4 audience score has now fallen to 78%, suggesting viewers are considerably less enthusiastic than critics.

This is also a good example of why aggregators aren’t always reliable measures of quality. Season 1 is, in my view, clearly a far better season than any of the three that followed, but it was reviewed by nearly twice as many critics. It’s possible there’s some selection bias at work here: critics who didn’t particularly care for Reacher may simply have stopped reviewing it, leaving later seasons with a smaller pool of reviewers predisposed to enjoy the show.
Still, I love Ritchson in this role, and even if the story is pretty goofy, the action is at least well-choreographed this season. I’m curious to find out what’s actually going on. I’ve read many of Lee Child’s novels, but not Gone Tomorrow, so I’m going into this particular mystery blind.
I’d recommend watching. Just set your expectations accordingly.
