Key Facts
A Miami federal judge ordered Andrew Tate’s final extradition to take place on Nov. 19, while Tristan Tate’s hearing will occur the following day, both at 10 a.m. EDT.
Also on Friday, District Judge Lauren Fleischer Louis denied a request to consolidate Andrew and Tristan Tates’ cases, noting the United Kingdom charges contain “material differences in the allegations against each” brother.
The Tates have vowed to fight their potential extradition, and they have attempted to evade jail time pending a decision on extradition, but Louis denied a request last month to release them on bail, saying they failed to prove they are not a danger to the community.
The Tates’ lawyer, Joe McBride, confirmed the extradition hearing dates in a post on X Friday afternoon, writing, “FREE ANDREW AND TRISTAN TATE.”
tangent
Earlier this week, McBride filed a petition with the Miami federal court seeking “immediate release” for Andrew and Tristan Tate, alleging the court’s order to deny them bail is unconstitutional. “Andrew and Tristan are American citizens with no criminal history, and they have spent every day since July 18 in the Special Housing Unit at FDC Miami, without a single disciplinary infraction, at the request of a foreign government, on allegations about a decade old,” McBride said in a statement.
what to watch for
Whether the Tates are extradited to the United Kingdom would be subject to a final decision by the Department of State. Secretary of State Marco Rubio declined to weigh in on the Tates’ case in response to a reporter’s question in July, saying there’s “no role for us to play at this moment, or maybe ever in that regard, but I’m not going to opine on that.” In response to a reporter asking in July whether the White House would intervene in the extradition process, former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “No. We’ve already answered that question.” The Tates are noted Trump supporters, and the New York Times reported in 2024 Andrew Tate had forged close ties with Trump’s son Barron as part of the Trump campaign’s effort to reach influencers to win over the young male vote. The Times reported Barron Trump and Andrew Tate spoke on a Zoom call about their shared belief his criminal charges in Romania were part of “an effort to silence the Tates.” McBride said the report is “fake news.”
What Charges Are The Tates Facing Abroad?
British authorities announced in July they had unveiled more than three dozen new charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate, adding to the 21 charges the brothers had already faced. Most of the new charges concerned Andrew Tate, including seven counts of rape, three counts of sex trafficking, three counts of assault and 19 charges related to child and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate’s new charges spanned one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three sex trafficking counts. British authorities announced they would seek to extradite the brothers to be tried on all counts in the United Kingdom. Romanian prosecutors unveiled a new indictment against the Tate brothers last month, accusing Andrew Tate of trafficking minors, money laundering, sex with a minor and witness tampering, while accusing Tristan Tate of complicity.
