Dua Lipa’s single “Training Season” was not one of her biggest hits, though the track, which arrived in February 2024, is now on the rebound. The cut has recently gone viral on TikTok, with many fans of the singer — or simply those who enjoy the challenge, which is centered around manifestation within relationships — hopping on board and helping the song rise in popularity globally.
Lipa recently capitalized on the newfound success of “Training Season” by releasing a new EP titled Training Season’s Over. The short set includes multiple versions of the single, including live and alternate takes and recordings captured at various venues. “Training Season” returns to multiple charts in the United Kingdom this week, becoming a bestseller again and even bringing the superstar back to the country’s most competitive songs tally.
Dua Lipa’s “Training Season” Returns to Three Charts
“Training Season” reenters the Official Singles, Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts this week, settling at Nos. 53, 66 and 70, respectively. The tune is now not only a bestseller, but one of the 100 most popular tracks in the nation once more.
“Training Season” Reaches Half a Year as a Bestseller
As it returns, “Training Season” has now spent exactly half a year — 26 weeks — on the Official Singles Downloads chart. If the tune can hang on for two more frames, it will reach that same milestone on the Official Singles Sales tally, where it has thus far racked up 24 turns.
The song still has months to go before reaching half a year on the Official Singles chart, which ranks the most-consumed tracks of any style in the U.K. using a methodology that incorporates both sales and streams. “Training Season” has so far managed a total of 16 weeks on that roster.
Dua Lipa’s Hit Had Been Gone for Years
“Training Season” had been missing from all three rankings for different lengths of time before its latest comeback. The cut vacated the Official Singles chart in July 2024 and fell off the Official Singles Sales ranking that September. It held on longest on the Official Singles Downloads tally, though it has failed to appear there since December 2024 – until this week.
“Training Season” Is One of Dua Lipa’s No. 1 Hits
Of the three charts where “Training Season” reappears this frame, it has only conquered the Official Singles Sales tally. The cut is one of half a dozen No. 1s for Lipa on the purchase-focused ranking, following “One Kiss” with Calvin Harris, “Real Groove” with Kylie Minogue, “Cold Heart” with Elton John, “Dance the Night” from Barbie and “Houdini.”
“Houdini” helped front Lipa’s Radical Optimism, with “Training Season” serving as the second single from the project. Both tracks reached No. 1 on the Official Singles Sales chart, while subsequent promotional tunes “Illusion” and “These Walls” missed out on doing so.
Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism Is Missing
While “Training Season” gains ground and becomes a hit again, the album on which it originally appeared is nowhere to be found on the U.K. rankings this week. Lipa instead scores two other charting releases.
Her self-titled debut improves slightly from No. 74 to No. 72 on the Official Albums Streaming chart. At the same time, Live From Mexico, which arrived only a few months ago, dips to No. 25 on the main Official Albums tally and holds steady at No. 15 on the streaming ranking.
