Olivia Rodrigo has bounced between pop and rock since the first songs she released, and much of her output can be classified under either genre label. Her first full-length, Sour, which introduced her to the world more than half a decade ago, certainly had rocking moments. But in many ways – at least according to both Billboard and the Recording Academy – the full-length was a pop record through and through.

Her follow-up, Guts, leaned more heavily into guitars, and thus it appeared on various rock and alternative charts. You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, the Grammy winner’s recently-shared third studio LP, followed Guts and became a major win on Billboard’s rock and alternative lists. This frame, as Rodrigo’s most recent project gains ground and returns to No. 1, it establishes a very important position within her own charting catalog.

Olivia Rodrigo Returns to No. 1 on Two Billboard Charts

You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love finds its way back to No. 1 on both the Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts. This week, the full-length rises from second place on both rankings, landing at the summit after briefly stepping aside.

Olivia Rodrigo Scores Her Longest-Running Rock No. 1

As of this frame, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love has spent 10 weeks ruling the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. It is one of Rodrigo’s two leaders on the tally, and as it finds its way back to the summit, the project breaks out of a tie with its predecessor.

Guts spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the ranking beginning in September 2023. You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love has now bested that run and become the singer-songwriter’s longest-running winner on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart.

Guts Still Leads on the Alternative Albums Chart

That is not quite the case on the Top Alternative Albums tally. Guts managed an even dozen stints running the show, while You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love is now up to 10 weeks at No. 1.

Rodrigo’s new release has spent 11 weeks on both genre-specific rankings. So far, it’s only failed to lead the charge once, and the album may very well continue adding to its total in the coming months.

Olivia Rodrigo Has Charted Three Projects on Both Rankings

Rodrigo has placed three collections on both the Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts. In addition to both Guts and You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, Live From Glastonbury: A BBC Recording entered the two races less than a year ago, in December 2025. That live effort peaked at No. 4 on the Top Alternative Albums tally and No. 7 on the more all-encompassing Top Rock & Alternative Albums list.

Olivia Rodrigo’s Latest Album Is a Top 10 Hit Everywhere

You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love is present on six Billboard rankings this week, and it is still a top 10 smash on all of them. This frame, the title rises to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 6 on the Vinyl Albums chart. The full-length slips to No. 7 on the Top Album Sales ranking while keeping at No. 3 on the Top Streaming Albums tally.

Sour and Guts Remain Billboard Hits

Both Sour and Guts are still going strong on multiple American rankings as well, though the focus for Rodrigo and her following is clearly on You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. The two albums decline slightly on the Billboard 200 this week, with Sour slipping to No. 47 and Guts falling to No. 59.

Sour also holds on at No. 46 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Guts, meanwhile, can be found at Nos. 11 and 16 on the Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts, respectively – not far beneath Rodrigo’s newest collection. Next frame, Guts will celebrate 156 weeks, exactly three years, on both of those style-specific tallies.
