It’s Sunday already. The weekend goes by too quickly! Next Sunday I’m going to a yoga festival in a much warmer climate, so I’m looking forward to that. I love the rain and the yellow leaves of fall, but a day or two in the sun will be nice.

Today’s Wordle Answer

Today’s Wordle Etymology

“Uncap” comes from the prefix un-(“to reverse an action”) and cap(“a covering or lid”). Cap derives from Old English cæppe, borrowed from Late Latin cappa, meaning “hood” or “cloak.” Thus uncap literally means “to remove a covering,” especially the cap of a bottle, pen, or container.

Today’s Wordle Bot Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordle score with Wordle Bot right here.

LATER was a decent opener, leaving me with 107 words. CHAIN was a great second guess, dropping that number down to just one. It took me awhile to figure it out, but only UNCAP remained. Huzzah!

Competitive Wordle Score

I get 1 point for guessing in three and 1 for beating the Bot. The Bot gets 0 for guessing in four and -1 for losing to me. Our new totals for October are:

Erik: 12 points

Wordle Bot: 1 points

Today’s Bonus Custom Wordle

One Wordle not enough? I come up with a new custom Wordle every day for you to solve. Here’s today’s.

Today’s Bonus Custom Wordle is 4 letters long.

  • The hint: ___ Detective
  • The clue: This Wordle begins with two consonants and ends with two vowels.
  • Yesterday’s Custom Wordle Answer: SHOTGUN

How To Play Competitive Wordle

  • Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
  • If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
  • Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative.
