The Two Title Matches

Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight. Vaquer defends the Women’s World Championship against Lynch and Morgan in a triple threat. That match was made after Vaquer interfered when Lynch and Morgan were set to decide the No. 1 contender on Raw.

Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed

Femi vs. Reed grew out of a series of beatdowns from The Vision. Femi attacked the group on the Sept. 21 Raw, and Reed accepted his challenge the following week, per WWE.

How the Ladder Fields Left SmackDown

Both ladder fields got a final push on the go-home SmackDown. Lash Legend pinned Sol Ruca in a six-woman tag and then attacked her partners, Jayne and Tiffany Stratton. Trick Williams vs. Breakker ended in a no contest, and Reed closed the show by hitting Williams with a Tsunami, per Pro Wrestling Dot Net.

What SmackDown Set Up for After Money in the Bank

SmackDown planted some solid seeds that we won’t get to see grow until after MITB. Tatum Paxley and Alexa Bliss are the new WWE women’s tag-team champions. Finn Balor and Gunther might be headed for a feud that could produce a classic. Also, R-Truth got revenge on Damian Priest. Perhaps we’ll see those angles play out in the weeks following MITB.

Money in the Bank 2026 Predictions

As for MITB, I like Jacy Jayne and Bron Breakker to win the MITB matches, and I predict a champion will be cashed in on during the show.

Could There Be a Return?

We might also see a major return. Many of us are hoping to see Naomi come back to face off with Jaida Parker and the 946. That said, the 946 don’t have a real reason to be at MITB. However, because they are the WWE’s hottest faction, it seems like a waste to leave them out of the show completely.

Be on the lookout for my recap following the show.
